NFPA World Safety Conference & Exposition 2008
Sam and Rich drove to Las Vegas and had dinner with Russell Ashe, Deputy Chief of the Barre, VT Fire Department, and one of his firemen, Matt Cetin. The next day, at the World Safety Conference, DC Ashe and FF Cetin gave a seminar about the consistent failures of ionization smoke detectors and the avoidable deaths caused by these failures. Messrs. Ashe and Cetin were also present at the signing-into-law of the new bill (S.226) requiring photoelectric-only smoke detectors in homes.
